 Activated coconut shell charcoal is a highly porous, negatively charged powder that attracts and adsorbs positively charged toxins such as heavy metals. Brushing with this charcoal will help whiten teeth and enhance dental health by balancing oral pH levels and adsorbing cavity-causing plaque. 

Apricot kernel oil has properties similar to almond oil, though it is a bit lighter in weight, texture, and colour and is odourless.  This oil is excellent for softening the skin around the throat and wonderful for mature skin due to its skin tightening ability and slight astringent quality. 

Arrowroot helps penetrate the upper levels of the skin so may help moisturisers to penetrate the skin better.  A lovely, soft powder also used to make body powders silkier and smoother with similar uses to corn flour, in that it acts like a sponge absorbing oil from the skin without drying it out.  Has great moisture absorbing properties and softens the skin.

Clays - 

White, Australian.  Ideal for sensitive or irritated skin. Calming, cooling and softens the skin.

Bentonite - Australian.  A fine clay with a high content of minerals which are wonderful for skin pampering and may help to improve skin elasticity and cell renewal for supple, younger looking skin.

Fullers Earth. An off-white clay, popular for oily and congested skin. Very drying and oil absorbing. Rich in minerals like magnesium, calcium and quartz. It is a particularly effective cleanser which can help improve your complexion and keep your skin feeling fresh and invigorated.

Ivory, Australian.  Soft and silky for sensitive skin.

Ochre, French.  A natural clay earth pigment which is a mixture of ferric oxide and varying amounts of clay and sand. It ranges in colour from yellow to deep orange or brown. 

Olive Green, Australian.  Best for detoxification and acne prone and oily skin. Acts as an aid for repairing scars.

Pink, Australian.  Ideal for sensitive skin.  It is rich in Silica, which may help to improve skin elasticity and cell renewal for supple, younger looking skin.

Red, Australian.  High in iron oxide and helpful for broken capillaries and bags under the eyes.  Good for muscle toning.

Avocado oil is rich and conditioning, full of vitamins A, B1, B2, D, E and potassium.  Takes a bit longer to penetrate the top layer of the skin, so is excellent for after bath massage oils and especially helpful for dry dull skin. Leaves a protective barrier to help prevent moisture evaporation. 

Basil essential oil (sweet) has a spicy sweet invigorating scent which stimulates the mind and body alike.  May help ease headaches, circulatory problems, colds and coughs, flu, muscle pain and stiffness, rheumatism, diabetes and fatigue. Do not use it if you have epilepsy, cancer, are pregnant or breast feeding.

Benzoin essential oil has a warm sweet aroma, with strong notes of vanilla which is a staple in the perfume industry. It has a deeply relaxing effect and may act as a sedative. Can also be used to help with depression, emotional upset and nervousness. Not suitable for children under 6 years of age.

Bergamot essential oil has a citrus fragrance that refreshes, balances and is said to help ease anxiety, nervous tension and depression. It is also an antiseptic and a deodorant. Do not use on children under 2 years of age.

Black Pepper essential oil has a peppercorn like aroma.  Crisp and fresh. It is said to increase stamina and alertness, is a natural pain killer and a circulatory system stimulant. Can be an irritant for sensitive skins. Do not use if you are pregnant, before sleeping or on children under 6.

Bicarbonate of Soda is an odourless and alkaline powder with skin soothing and softening properties. It deodorises and softens bath water and helps relieve the pain of bee stings and the itch from rashes. 

Cacao is considered great for the skin because it is full of antioxidants, giving your skin an extra boost of protection. It rejuvenates dull skin, softens skin and leaves it smooth and glowing. Suitable for all skin types, especially sun damaged and mature skin.

Cajeput essential oil is a close relative to tea tree.  Has a camphor like fruity aroma which is fresh and uplifting and great for treating colds and the flu. May cause irritation for some sensitive skin and is not suitable for children under 6.

Calendula petals are known for their calming and anti-inflammation and skin healing properties. Slightly astringent and antiseptic.

Carrot Seed essential oil aids in restoring elasticity to the skin, has a rejuvenating effect, assisting with cell regeneration, helps tone aging skin and is excellent for all skin types. Warm, woody and earthy scent. Do not use if pregnant or epileptic.

Castor oil is high in omega 9 fatty acids.  Full of vitamin E so is good for softening wrinkles and lips, dry heels, and patches of eczema and psoriasis. When applied to nails it provides a protective shield against hot water and dry winter air.

Cedarwood essential oil regenerates cells and has a natural insect repellent. It is very calming and may help with psoriasis and rheumatism.  Has the classic cedar aroma but smoother and fuller bodied. Please do not use if you are pregnant, have sensitive skin, and is not suitable for children under 6 years old.

Chamomile - German,  flowers and essential oil is suitable for sensitive and inflamed skin including eczema, dry and normal skin. It may also help with sprains and strains and arthritis.  floral scent.

Chamomile - Roman essential oil is suitable for all skin types especially sensitive skin. Calming and anti-spasmodic properties help to relax the mind and relieve anxiety.  Combined with its mood boosting qualities, it also has antispasmodic abilities which help ease menstrual cramps, headaches and back pain – great if you have PMS. This versatile oil can also assist with digestive problems and skin and inflammatory conditions. It has a sweet, apple like floral scent. Safe in small amounts for babies.

Cinnamon Leaf essential oil is rich in antioxidants, has anti-aging and anti- acne benefits, antiseptic and antibacterial properties with a warming effect.  Improves collagen production of the skin cells which can help reduce the signs of aging. It can be a skin irritate for sensitive skin. Do not use if pregnant or epileptic. People with hemophilia, prostate cancer, kidney or liver disease should not use this oil. If you are taking anticoagulants you should also avoid this oil.

Citronella essential oil is great for repelling mosquitoes and other bothersome bugs.  It may stimulate menstrual flow so please do not use if you are pregnant,  have oestrogen dependent cancer, or on children under 6 years of age.

Clove Bud essential oil  Spicy, warming, stimulating and broadly antiseptic. When diluted in a base oil can be used on sore muscles and joints. Do not use if  you are pregnant or epileptic.

Cocoa butter melts on contact with the skin and has a delicate chocolate aroma.  It is an antioxidant-rich emollient derived from the cocoa bean. Soothing and high in vitamin E, it helps reduce the formation of stretch marks and scars keeping the skin soft and supple. 

Cosmetic seaweed powder has been shown to contain rich bioactive compounds, omega-3 fatty acids, essential amino acids, and vitamins A, B, C, and E, so is calming with moisturising benefits and may also help with skin toning. 

Cow's milk full cream powder is high in skin softening fats and a great skin cleanser for normal, dry and sensitive skin. Contains proteins whey and casein, amino acids, lactic acid, and vitamins A, D and E.  These nutrients calm dry, itchy, upset skin and are also exfoliating and cleansing. Milk baths can help soothe dry conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

Coconut flour is a high protein rich flour and used as a substitute for cows milk.

Coconut oil is easily absorbed into the skin. Bursting full of antioxidants, vitamins E and K and minerals. Fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of this coconut oil from which all the long chain triglycerides are removed, leaving mainly the medium chain triglycerides making it an absolutely saturated oil. It has a long shelf life and is very stable. Because it is passed through steam distillation it does not solidify at 24 degrees making it very useful in natural skincare.

Coffee Oil is obtained by a special process of cold processing roasted coffee beans, coffee oil is used primarily for its characteristic fragrance, both cosmetically and therapeutically. Consisting mostly of polyunsaturated linoleic acid with a high content of palmitic acid.  Like the beverage itself, you'll find it uplifting and energising.  It promotes mental alertness and a warm sense of wellbeing. 

Comfrey leaves, are soothing and mildly astringent. Perfect for soothing and relaxing your sore, tired muscles. Massage into your neck and shoulders to relieve stress or rub into your sore muscles and joints for some natural relief.

Corn flour acts like a sponge absorbing oil from the skin without drying it out.  Contains vitamins, minerals and amino acids that may help boost collagen, prevent signs of the skin ageing, keeping the skin healthy, vibrant and smooth.

Eucalyptus Blue Gum Essential Oil helps with easing headaches and allergy symptoms, as well as boosting the immune systemagainst colds, flu, chicken pox and measles. It’s also great for helping to ease muscle and joint aches and pains, improving poor circulation, and treating the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and nerve pain.

Evening Primrose oil is moisturising, rejuvenating, high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, readily absorbed, repairs damaged skin especially after sun exposure, softens lines and smooths your skin.

Frankincense essential oil helps to reduce anxiety and rejuvenate tired sagging skin and accelerate the healing of small blemishes i.e. sunspots and age spots.   Has the ability to tighten skin and improve skin tone and elasticity as someone ages. Suitable for acneic, environmentally damaged or mature skin. Has a sweet, heavy fragrance.

Geranium essential oil helps to tighten, heal and tone the skin. Balances sebum production and stimulates the lymph system,.  Has a fresh, rose like, green scent with uplifting and balancing qualities. May also be useful as a natural insect repellent and insecticide. 

Geranium Bourbon essential oil differs compositionally from other Geranium oils due to its geographical location and climate conditions, and it is believed to be the finest quality Geranium. It's balancing effect on the mind makes it great for stabilizing anger, anxiety, depression, stress and nervous tension. It is also said to assist in easing female health discomforts such as menopausal and menstrual problems, PMS, breast tenderness, heavy periods and cellulite and fluid retention.

Ginger oil is spicy and warming. It is a natural antioxidant that fights inflammation, improves circulation and helps reduce the appearance and formation of cellulite.  Used in oil blends can also help with muscle aches and pains. Do not use if pregnant or epileptic.

Grapeseed oil is easily absorbed, lightweight, mildly astringent, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic with a silky texture. Very high in the antioxidant’s vitamins C and E and rich in fatty acids which help keep the skin maintain moisture balance by protecting it from moisture loss.

Green tea is an antioxidant which helps reduce inflammation, reduce wrinkles, soothes, heals, and is mildly astringent which is comforting for sunburned and environmentally damaged skin.  Matcha green tea is a powerhouse of antioxidants that is fabulous for anti-aging, eliminating blemishes including acne. It is anti-inflammatory due to the caffeine, and it is an effective exfoliant and detoxifying agent with its high chlorophyll content. It contains ten times the nutrients of other teas. You can reap its benefits by drinking it but it opens up a whole new world when used externally. It is the ultimate skin food.

Hazelnut oil leaves a non-greasy feeling, perfect for massage. Because of it's deeply penetrating astringent properties and high essential fatty acids it is soothing and healing for all skin types making it a wonderful massage oil for your feet and legs. 

Helichrysum essential oil is also known as Everlasting or Immortelle.  It helps with healing the skin, acne, eczema and bruising, plus it may stimulate new cell formation.  When blended with rose hip seed oil it helps reduce the appearance of scar tissue. It has a warm herbal scent.

Honey - natural and pure, is full of natural antioxidants and antimicrobial properties which help protect, repair and prevent skin damage. Increases circulation and helps your skin absorb and retain moisture which keeps it from drying out. Add some to your bath, or facial cleanser masks for a special treat.

Jojoba oil is similar to our own human sebum.  It is not oily and contains many beneficial ingredients including vitamin E, vitamin B complex, silicon, chromium, copper and zinc.  It also has a very high percentage of iodine at 82% which gives this great oil the power to heal. The antioxidants present in jojoba oil will help soothe fine lines, wrinkles and naturally slow down other signs of aging.. Said to be the king of carrier oils along with coconut oil and olive oil. Does not require refrigeration.

Juniper Berry essential oil uplifts and stimulates to improve alertness so may also help with depression.  It has a refreshing woody, sweet aroma. Do not use if you are pregnant, or have liver or kidney disease. 

Kale is one of nature’s superfoods.  Full of vitamins (especially A and C) and minerals as well as anti-cancer nutrients. Very cleansing, immune boosting and skin healing. Loaded with antioxidants to help protect your skin from free radical damage.

Kunzea essential oil with it's woody, and herbaceous aroma and widespread therapeutic benefits, it is great for cuts, small wounds, insect bites and minor burns and skin irritations. It also helps alleviate the symptoms of headache and flu, has a good reputation for easing stress, nervous tension and mild anxiety. Avoid during pregnancy and whilst breastfeeding. Not suitable for children.

Lavender essential oil is great for all skin and especially sensitive skin. Because it helps regenerate skin cells, it is probably the number 1 essential oil that helps skin heal. It has a relaxing and calming effect on the nervous system with a soft floral herbal scent. 

Lemon essential oil is a powerful detoxification agent, containing high levels of vitamins and minerals. Used to treat illnesses, improve mood and help with digestive problems. 

Lemon Eucalyptus essential oil is calming, may help with acne, circulatory health, emphysema, rheumatism and is an insect repellent. 

Lemon Myrtle essential oil is a powerful germicide and antibacterial agent and is proven to be far more effective than Tea Tree Oil. Traditionally inhaled or used topically for easing chest congestion, it also helps ease muscle pains and inflammation. Lemon Myrtle Oil has has reputation for being mentally uplifting and a natural antidepressant, and its sedative properties help to relax and calm the mind in times of stress. Distilled from the tree growing naturally in our Australian northern rainforests, lemon myrtle’s lovely fragrance is also prized in high end perfumery. Has a warm, sweet lemon aroma.

Lime essential oil is used to help combat rheumatism, arthritis, poor circulation, cellulite and obesity. Wonderful for cleansing oily and acne prone skin, and clearing blocked pores. With its refreshingly crisp, sweet, citrus-fruity fragrance it is known for its mentally revitalizing and uplifting abilities.

Maca is a superfood containing iron, manganese, copper, selenium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, iodine, essential fatty acids and amino acids. Helps keep skin healthy and increases the skins vitality helping to maintain a more youthful, wrinkle-free appearance.

Mandarin essential oil is renowned for its nourishing properties.   With its skin toning and perfecting properties, mandarin may help to give a healthy-looking glow to blemished, oily or dull-looking skin. Being mild it is suitable for sensitive skin and with its crisp and citrusy aroma,  adds to its popularity as a preferred essential oil for children. Can be phototoxic, so don’t use it prior to direct exposure to sunlight.

Marjoram essential oil is particularly useful in treating pain, easing respiratory complaints and bringing emotional balance.

Milk, whole dried is a traditional way to cleanse, nourish and soothe your skin, helping to remove dead skin cells and hydrating your skin. This classic milk powder offers some of the largest amounts of skin-nourishing vitamins and minerals of any milk. They include Vitamin A, C, D, K, as well as B complex vitamins, folate, pantothenic acid, cobalamin, and choline, calcium, potassium, and essential fatty acids of omega-3, and omega-6.

Neroli essential oil promotes cell regeneration and improves skin elasticity. Helps to smooth fine lines, tone sagging skin and shrink the appearance of pores without drying skin. Gentle. Has a rich, erotic, delicate orange scent. Considered to be an aphrodisiac by some.

Non petroleum jelly handmade using extra virgin olive oil and unrefined Tasmanian Leatherwood beeswax.

Oats, flour and meal. Soothing, nourishing, moisturising and a gentle exfoliator for all skin types. Full of anti-inflammatories and antioxidants. Oatmeal can help normalize your skin’s PH.

Olive oil is easily absorbed, gentle, a skin softener and an antioxidant, high in polyphenols which have anti-aging benefits. Palmarosa essential oil is a wonderful skin softener and an excellent essential oil to use if you have dry skin. Can help relieve acne, dermatitis, fatigue, muscle pain and stress. It has a sweet rose scent. Palmarosa provides a wealth of benefits for the skin, particularly as a moisturiser as it is effective in retaining and balancing skin moisture.

Patchouli essential oil is uplifting and can be helpful in relieving headaches and depression also. It is a natural insect repellent and has an earthy, rich sweet scent. A wonderful skin conditioner.

Peppermint essential oil is antiseptic a stimulating astringent, deodorizing and cooling. It energises and awakens the mind.  Do not use if pregnant or epileptic.

Rice bran oil is full of antioxidants, enzymes, vitamins B and E and omega 6 fatty acids. These natural vitamins increase elasticity while maintaining hydration and this helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. A light oil which protects the skin from UV rays and smooth skin tone, which penetrates easily. Rice bran also contains squalene which is a natural organic compound that helps with the synthesis of cholesterol and vitamin D in the human body. By doing this rice bran oil helps the skin to regenerate itself, leading to fresher, younger looking skin; it is considered an anti-aging secret in Japan.

Pink Grapefruit essential oil  is commonly used to help ease symptoms of stress, nervous exhaustion and depression. It is also used to combat problems such as oily skin, acne, cellulite and fluid retention. It’s also said help detoxify your body.

Rose Geranium essential oil helps relieve stress, fatigue and anxiety and has a fresh, rose like scent. It can improve blood circulation and is useful for healing wounds and fighting inflammation such as acne, fungal infections, eczema, dermatitis and muscle strain. Also helps any scars you may have to slowly fade, restoring the skin’s smoothness.

Rose Hip Seed oil is high in essential fatty acids and is used to rejuvenate, soften and heal skin damaged by scars stretch marks and weather.

Rosemary essential oil. Helps to heal wounds, promotes cell regeneration and has antiseptic properties. Helps tone the skin, remove dryness and prevent acne.  It can stimulate the blood so is good for circulatory health.   Has a crisp, lemony scent. 

Salts - Australian, Epsom and Himalayan are rich in vitamins, minerals, trace elements and amino acids of the sea. Great for healthy looking skin, healing imperfections and increased circulation.  Himalayan Salt contains 84 of the 92 elements naturally occurring in Mother Earth. This is significantly more mineral content than the 54 elements derived from ordinary sea-salt. Speak to your health physician before using Epsom salts if you are pregnant or have diabetes.

Sand is a very fine powder that is a great ally for exfoliating the skin. You should avoid using it on the face or neck, because this skin is much more delicate and sensitive . It is particularly helpful in removing dead cells from areas such as the legs, arms and feet.

Sandalwood essential oil - Australian, may help to relieve inflammation and itching, and has proven helpful for infected wounds, acne and boils. Sedative rather than uplifting, it’s known as an effective relaxant if you’re feeling nervous or anxious. Plus Sandalwood essential oil’s aphrodisiac properties can assist with sexual issues such as impotence and frigidity – perhaps for this very reason. Generally considered a balancing oil for the skin, it’s especially effective for ageing complexions.

Seaweed powder contains rich bioactive compounds, omega-3 fatty acids, essential amino acids, vitamins A, B, C, and E,  helping to remove surface impurities from the skin. Suitable for all types of skin.

Shea Butter restores the skin’s natural elasticity. It has brilliant moisturising capabilities and contains heaps of vitamins, minerals and proteins. It enables your skin to absorb moisture from the air and by keeping it there for a while it makes your skin softer.

Soya bean oil is easily absorbed and has natural insect repellent properties.

Spearmint essential oil is gentler on the skin than peppermint oil, and can be added to skincare products to assist with dermatitis, acne and congested skin.

Spirulina is so packed full with vitamins and antioxidants, it does a great job at fighting those free radicals that can make our skin look tired, dull and older than we really are. It has amazing detoxifying properties too, which makes it really great for brightening dark circles and other signs of ageing as well as soothing inflammation and skin irritations.

Sunflower oil is easily absorbed and high in vitamins A, D and E, lecithin, and oleic fatty acid. High in essential fatty acids, vitamins A, D and E and lecithin. Deeply moisturising for all skin types, except oily. It is very similar to human sebum.

Sugar exfoliates the skin but does not dry it like salt may. it contains glycolic acids which means it exfoliates on a chemical level as well as by abrasion.

Superfoods is a blend of Maqui, Acai, wild crafted Gubinge, Camu Camu, AFA Blue Green Algae and Spirulina. Full of antioxidants, vitamin C, proteins and essential minerals.

Sweet almond oil is a nutritious oil which penetrates well.  Suitable for all skin types, especially dry, inflamed or itchy. Be wary of using this oil if you have a sensitivity to nuts.

Sweet orange essential oil is suitable for oily to normal skin and in anti-cellulite formulas. It has a seductive, calming effect and may help relieve anxiety. Sweet and fruity scent. Helps impart feelings of warmth and happiness while also helping to eliminate toxins from the body.  Do not use if pregnant or epileptic. 

Tasmanian Leatherwood Beeswax straight from the south west of Tasmania this wonderfully smelling beeswax is the natural secretion of bees which helps to protect the skin. It is an emollient, which means it helps to keep your babies' skin soft and a humectant which helps to keep the skin moist.  It is very gentle.

Tea Tree essential oil a safe oil with strong antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral properties. Blends nicely with other essential oils like lavender or peppermint. May be useful for acne, rashes and oily skin. It is also said to be an immune stimulant.

Thyme essential oil is reddish brown in colour with a medium to oily consistency. It has a fresh and herbaceous aroma that is medium to strong in intensity. It is a very potent oil and should not be used during pregnancy or in cases of high blood pressure. Because of the phenols, which can irritate mucus membranes and cause skin irritation and is used in low concentrations.

Turmeric possesses antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties It is used to cure various skin conditions like stretch marks, wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, blemishes, dark spots.  It heals dry skin, slows down the aging process and makes the skin supple.

Vanilla (Oleoresin) balances the mood and reduces stress, a calming aphrodisiac. Great for mature skin with a sweet and rich fragrance. Vanilla is highly rich in antioxidants that are excellent for their anti-aging properties and can help to soothe wrinkles & fine lines, heal damaged skin and reduce age spots. 

Vegetable Glycerine is a humectant which draws moisture from the air to the skin.

Vetiver essential oil anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, soothes inflammation, speeds up the healing process of scars and spots and generally boosts the body’s ability to heal itself. A nice woody aroma.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant which helps the immune system and improve circulation to all parts of the body. It allows the skin to breathe and function naturally, reduce the appearance of wrinkles and the formation of scar tissue.  

Ylang Ylang essential oil relaxes the muscles, balances the mood and acts as an antidepressant.  Has a sweet, spicy floral exotic scent and is said to be one of the most exotic scents on earth.
